Where are we?
Most of our activities are based at the historic Upper Wincobank Chapel, Wincobank Avenue, S5 6BB.
Directions: M1 J34. Follow A6109 to Sheffield, after 1/2 mile turn right at Jenkin Road. Continue to the top and over the brow of the hill. At the yellow off-licence, fork left onto Wincobank Avenue. The chapel is 50 yards on left, set back from the road, opposite a village green with a circle of Enchanted Chairs. Grid Reference: SK 377 913 GB Grid       
On bus route 3 and 3a.  

What do we do?

Thursday 5th April at 6.30pm for refreshments followed at 7pm by an illustrated talk "The History of Western Park Museum", by Alistair McLean, Curator of the museum. 

Thursday 3rd May at 6.30pm for refreshments followed at 7pm there will be an Open Committee Meeting when members and local residents can come and share their  thoughts about the hillfort and ancient woodland along with any concerns or suggestions.

Thursday 7th June will be a talk by Paul Richards who has been working with the Sheffield Wildlife Trust with the Nature Counts project. The aim is to give us ideas on how to go about recording our own 'patch'.  The content will include; What is biological recording?  Why do we do it?  How do we do it? Where do our records go?  How can we continue to do it?  

At each meeting there will be a small charge of £2 which includes refreshments and a raffle ticket.  The funds raised help pay for the room hire. Please feel free to bring a friend.  Visitors are always welcome. 


Saturdays March 10th, April 14, May 12th, June 8th  - 10am - 12.30pm   The Wombles of Wincobank: Coffee, Cake and Conservation. 

Meet outside the Chapel. All hands needed to help the Woodland Rangers trim and tidy the paths and woodland.  All are welcome to come and help including supervised children. Tools, hot drinks and biscuits provided but it is best to bring your own gardening gloves.  Please text or phone 07980 143776 if you are planning to come so that we look out for you.
